Dr. Viera Carnogursky

(Dr. C) completed a bachelor’s degree in General Science before graduating in 1989 as a Doctor of Dental Surgery, from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. She received an award in Clinical Excellence for restorative dentistry.

To further her dental knowledge, Dr. C completed a hospital internship program and then moved to Vancouver. Here, she worked as an associate in a family practice. She began providing dental care to patients in her own busy practice in Surrey over 10 years ago.

Her treatment philosophy is to be honest and direct, to use the latest accepted current techniques and to provide as much comfort as possible in a caring and light-hearted atmosphere.

She is licensed to practice as a dentist in British Columbia by the College of Dental Surgeons of BC. Dr. C is also member of 2 study clubs: endodontics (root canals) and periodontics (gum treatment). She stays current, perfecting skills with many continuing education courses and is a member of the Canadian and BC Dental Associations.

Dr. C. is originally from Slovakia, a small country in Eastern Europe. She is sensitive to language and cultural differences, trying to say at least a few welcoming words in the language of the families coming to her office. Smiles work in any language.

In her “spare” time, she likes to downhill ski in the Vancouver area, hike on the north shore, kayak around the islands and camp in the interior with her husband and two children. Families matter in her personal and business life.

Dr. Sabrina Makhani

(Dr. M) completed her degree in Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), from the University of British Columbia in 2005. Previously she graduated as a dentist and a periodontist (gum specialist) from Nair Hospital Dental College in Bombay, India. She also lectured at M.G.V. Dental College, India before coming to Canada in 2001.

Along the way, Dr. M has received many awards, too numerous to list, including:

• Dr. Irving E Snider Prize for Geriatic Dentistry
• Dr. Earl Ellison Prize for highest standing in prosthodontics
• highest standing in Periodontics
• Canada Student Clinical Award for Excellence
• Canadian Academy of Periodontology Book Prize for highest standing
• ICC Honor Roll Certificate for exceptional achievement at UBC

Her treatment philosophy is to provide excellence in her dental services and to assure that families have healthy and happy smiles. She continues to learn through continuing education. Attention to detail with emphasis on healthy gums is her base for providing caring dental services. She has a straightforward and conservative approach in providing the best possible dental treatment.

She is licensed to practice as a dentist in British Columbia by the College of Dental Surgeons of BC. Dr. M is also member of the Golden key International Society, the Canadian Dental Association, the Indian Dental Association and the Indian society of Periodontology

Dr Mahkani is originally from Bombay and speaks English and Hindi fluently, understands Gujrati and some Punjabi. She is married with a little boy and a baby girl. Her parents and sisters still live in India and she likes to return to see her family as often as she can. Traveling, reading and quality family time are her pleasures.
